A month later
Aakriti's POV
"Wait, Aarav and Sachi are coming. Let's meet them, and then we will head to the office." Dhruv said.
"Why suddenly?"
"You will know." He said with a knowing smile. We saw them enter, and there was a baby in Sachi's hand. These two had a secret baby.
"Staying with Kabir is lowering your IQ." My inner voice mocked me. Yes. I am getting dumber with each passing day.
"Sachi Whose baby is this?" Kabir asked them.
"Our baby." Sachi said I stared at them.
"What!" We both screamed, startling the baby. Dhruv had a knowing look. Yes. Of course. How can it be that he doesn't know?
"Before asking any questions, let me speak. We both have adopted him. He is our son, Advik Aarav Oberoi." Aarav said.
"When did you adopt him?" Dhruv asked. Feigning ignorance.
"Today itself." they said.
"He is so cute and so small." I said and stepped forward to see the baby.
"No. No. He is so small and delicate. What if I drop him?" I refused to hold him as he looked so soft and small, fearing to hurt him.
"Bhabhi, you are so cute. "Nothing will happen, take him." Kabir said, pulling my cheek.
I slapped his hand off. "Kabir! Don't touch my face!"
Sachi laughed softly.
"Sachi, I want to speak with you. Come with me," Dhruv said. His expressions look serious.
I watched Dhruv's back as he walked a few steps ahead.
A prickling worry crawled up my spine.
What happened?
Why does he look like that?
"Why does Bhai look like he's about to conduct an interrogation?" Kabir whispered.
I smacked his arm lightly. "Kabir, shut up."
But he wasn't wrong. Dhruv did look like that.
Kabir peered at Advik. "Even the baby looks tense."
"KABIR!" we both snapped.
He raised his hands defensively. "What? He does! Look at his eyebrows!"
Advik scrunched his face.
Great. Now even the newborn was stressed. I picked him up, and he instantly relaxed and gave a bright smile. Are babies supposed to be so cute?
"He looks a bit like you." I said. His features did look similar to Aarav's.
"What? Show me." Kabir said and looked at Aadvik.
"Look."
"Yes, he does." Kabir said.
"Yes, after all, he is my son." Aarav said happily. He looked like a proud father. Sometimes people can't even love their own blood, and sometimes strangers form a very strong bond with each other. This tiny bundle of joy is going to be so loved and cherished. The baby dozed off in my arms. He looked even cuter while sleeping.
"He is going to be so cool, exactly like his Kabir mamu." Kabir said, looking at a sleeping Advik.
"No. No, Kabir. I can tolerate if he becomes like any of his mamu but not you. I don't want my son to be dumb like you." Sachi said, teasing him. I saw Dhruv; he looked at me fondly. He looked relaxed, not like how he looked before. Hope the matter is small.
"Am I dumb? You just wait. I will not leave you today." Kabir said and started chasing her.
"Bhai Bhai. Save me. See, he is trying to hit your princess." Sachi said, hiding behind Dhruv.
"Kabir, don't." Dhruv said in a stern voice.
"You just wait. I will use my trump card now." Kabir spoke softly, but I could hear him.
"Bhabhi. See, your husband is threatening me, your poor brother-in-law." He turned and showed me his pitiful expression. Even though I knew he was acting, I sided with him.
"Dhruv, don't trouble him." I said.
"When did this happen? How come you became her favorite?" Sachi asked him. Kabir has always been my favorite.
"It is an everyday scene. If I say anything to him, he will call his lovely Bhabhi." Dhruv said, glaring at Kabir. These two argue like kids.
"So, you don't listen to anybody bossing around everyone; only Bhabhi can control you." Kabir said.
"And what about controlling her? She is always bossing me around. Who is going to do that?" Bhai argued. I do boss him around, but I am his wife. It is my right.
"Don't say anything about my Bhabhi. She is the best." Kabir said.
"Yeah, yeah, I know." Dhruv said.
"You are just jealous that she loves me more." Kabir said, and I controlled my laugh. They both just burst out laughing. Dhruv came towards me and looked at Advik lovingly.
"The next generation has started. Shouldn't we also make some contribution?"
"Dhruv."
"Baby, let's make a lot of babies." He whispered in my ear.
"Dhruv, there's a baby here; have some shame."
"If I have shame, then how will we have our babies?" He said, making me go speechless.
Babies...
'Let's make a lot of babies.' His words were ringing in my head.
"You are thinking about it." He said with a teasing smile. I looked around; luckily, no one heard him.
"No, I am thinking about killing you." I said in anger.
"See, you are always thinking about me. After all, I am so handsome." Dhruv said with a smirk.
"Sachi. We need to go now. We have a flight to catch." Aarav said, breaking our trance.
"Stay for some time. Please. I want to spend some more time with him." Kabir said with a pout.
"Everyone is waiting for us, especially for Advik. We will come back soon, but now we need to go." Aarav said, and they left.
"I am already missing my nephew." Kabir said dramatically and dropped himself on the sofa.
"Me too." I said, agreeing to his words.
"Bhai and Bhabhi, make a baby soon. I want to be a chachu, and the baby will always be with me."
Dhruv narrowed his eyes. "Kabir, stay ten feet away from any baby we make."
Kabir clutched his chest. "Why? I will teach them everything I know."
"Exactly why," Dhruv shot back.
I laughed, unable to help it. These two were impossible.
Kabir sat up suddenly, squinting at me. "Bhabhi... you're blushing."
"I AM NOT! " I snapped way too quickly.
Dhruv smirked like a demon. "She is."
My cheeks heated even more. "I AM NOT."
Kabir gasped dramatically. "OH MY GOD. Are you already pregnant? "
"WhatβKABIR!" I threw a cushion at his face. "I'm not!"
"Yes, that is true. If you had been pregnant, Bhai would be distributing sweets in the entire city. Not standing here glaring at me." He said teasing Dhruv.
"You just wait." Dhruv warned, rolling up his sleeves like an action hero.
Kabir's eyes widened. "Bhai, violence is NOT the answerβAHHH!"
Dhruv lunged.
Kabir yelped and sprinted across the living room like his life depended on it.
"Bhabhi! Save me!"
"No, you deserve it." I said.
"Bhabhi, how can you betray me?" Kabir cried.
"You started this," I shrugged.
Kabir pouted dramatically, still running in circles.
"Fine! From today onward, I trust NO ONE in this house!"
Dhruv finally cornered him, cracking his knuckles.
Kabir squeaked.
And I just smiled.
